A few weeks ago it dawned on me that I am likely not the only person who dreads washing their long, thick hair because of the after care it requires. That is until recently. I have found two amazing products that have helped me lessen the dread of washing my hair and I wanted to share them!
So something that I’ve always dealt with as long as I’ve had long hair is brushing it out after washing it. It has taken me anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes just to brush out my hair! It’s filled with knots and tangles, plus it’s wet which just amplifies the difficulty of brushing it out.
How to Manage Thick Long Hair
I finally found what I’ve always needed — the L’ange Hair Siena Paddle Brush.
This brush has literally changed the game for me. It brushes my hair out so easily, so smoothly and takes less than 5 minutes to get through my thick, long, wet hair after washing it.
I was hesitant to spend so much on a hair brush, but ladies. Let me tell you it is worth every penny!
Here are two other products I use after washing to help moisturize and protect my hair from sun damage and to help with the tangles. The NIOS Shield is no longer available, however, the Drybar Prep Rally you can find here >>> Prep Rally
So here is what my hair looks like fresh out of the shower. Tangled. Knotty. Messy. A total rats nest.
And here is what it looks like with just one brush stroke.
The final result is smooth, brushed out hair that I then can blow dry without a hassle of still trying to get the tangles out.
I highly recommend trying the Siena Paddle Brush from L’ange and the detangler from Drybar. Both are phenomenal products that are worth the money spent on them. They leave my hair smooth, no-frizz and silky. They’re blessings on this momma’s thick, long hair!
