Give the Gift of STEM

December 19, 2018 by nikkidockery Leave a Comment

This post is sponsored by KiwiCo., however as always, all opinions expressed are my own.

I first heard of KiwiCo. on one of my favorite podcasts, The Homeschool Sisters Podcast. If you’re a homeschooling momma you HAVE to check it out.

So I was originally inspired by our homeschool life to check out KiwiCo. because I love finding different elements to add into our days that aren’t from a workbook or on a piece of paper. We received our first KiwiCo. crate a few weeks ago and immediately I was hooked. The boys loved it, and so did I because it combined so many elements of STEAM into it. I was highly impressed.

Keep reading for a killer deal later on in the post where you can try a crate for FREE!

So what is a Kiwi Co. crate?

It’s an educational box that is delivered to your door that is stuffed to the brim with STEM goodness.

What is STEM you may ask?

Science. Technology. Engineering. Math. I’d also consider KiwiCo. crates STEAM as well — the A standing for art because there are a lot of creative elements involved too.

Why is STEM important for developing minds?

STEM offers children the opportunity to explore science, technology, math and engineering in a way that is fun and creative for them. While they’re piecing together a disc launcher or a arcade claw hand (just two of the projects we’ve done!) they’re engineering a science project and they don’t even realize it. It helps them to problem solve and get creative and how to get their fingers and minds to make this work.

What ages is it for?

ALL AGES!

And when I say all ages, I really mean ALL AGES.

KiwiCo. offers a variety of crates starting from infant 0+ all the way up through teenagers and adults.

Here’s a look at the lines they offer:

Tadpole 0+ – 36 months — Explore and Discover activities

Koala 3-4 years — Play and Learn Activities

Kiwi 5-8 years — Science, Art & More

Atlas 6-11 years — Geography and Culture

Doodle 9-16+ — Art and Design

Tinker 9-16+ — Science and Engineering

Eureka 14-104+ — Engineering and Design

Why KiwiCo.?

Honestly, I looked into KiwiCo. as a way to supplement our homeschool, however, even if we weren’t homeschooling, I’d still be using these for the boys. They are the best way to get your little minds thinking and doing in a creative and simple way. All the supplies are delivered to you. There’s no trekking to this store and that store with a supply list trying to track down everything. There’s a booklet they provide that gives you every step by step direction for every activity, not to mention they provide additional projects you can do at home with things you likely already have on hand.

So are you ready to try these yet or what?!

I’ve partnered with KiwiCo. to bring you a killer deal. You can try a crate FOR FREE! All you do is pay $4.95 for shipping.

Go here to get yours >>>> KiwiCo. Crate

These make a perfect last minute Christmas gift idea too. There’s still time to order in time for the holidays!

A couple other things I wanted to note that I love. If you need to cancel or pause your subscription you can do so at anytime and do it all through their website (no calling and having to cancel or hassle with sales people). You can skip a month or buy 3, 6 or 12 month options at a time if you prefer.

I can’t say enough about KiwiCo. We love them and they’ve become a staple in our homeschool life.

If you check them out let me know! I’d love to hear what you think when you get your first crate!
