This post is sponsored by Goldfish Swim School, however as always, all opinions expressed are my own.
So as you may know we’ve been at Goldfish Swim School for a few months now. The boys LOVE it so much. Their confidence and abilities in the water have grown exponentially and you can see week over week how much their skills have improved. I love the atmosphere, the instructors and how easy it is to get your kids in and out of the pool area.
One small detail that I’ve really enjoyed about Goldfish is how warm it is inside. This may seem insignificant, but we’ve done swim lessons over the years in facilities that didn’t keep the pool water very warm nor the building. And in the winter months — THIS MATTERS! So once the kids were out of the pool they’d be freezing and grumpy and to put it simply every one of us is miserable because they’re cold and grumpy and agitated. I can honestly say this has never happened at Goldfish and I’m usually sweating by the time we get out of there! Which I much prefer over freezing my buns off. 😉
I’m a huge advocate for gifting our kids experiences instead of toys. An experience is much more memorable than a toy will likely ever be. Don’t get me wrong, we love toys in this house. And the boys have some very treasured items that they hold near and dear to their heart. However, overall I’d say the best gifts they’ve received over the years have been the memberships to our local science center, museums or tickets to see a movie.
There’s one gift you can give this year that will continue to give throughout the year and that is the gift of swimming. Every child (in my opinion) needs to know how to swim. Whether you own a pool or live by a body of water or live in the tundra (I mean we live in Michigan so we only see summer 3 months out of the year) — I still believe your child needs to know how to swim. You never know when you’ll be at someone’s home or when your child will be at a grandparents house who live next to someone with a pool…. there are endless possibilities of your how your child may be near a body of water and may need to know the life saving skill of swimming. As safe as we as parents can be, there are still uncertainties. Those uncertainties for me are lessened by knowing my boys are learning the most valuable life skill of swimming.
This holiday, skip the the usual presents and gift the Golden Experience of swim lessons at Goldfish Swim School. Kids learn safety skills while having fun, making friends, building confidence and learning life lessons. Kids love Goldfish’s fun, tropical environment and 90 degree pools. Parents get the peace of mind knowing that their loved ones are accomplishing an essential life skill based on their proven curriculum. There’s no better gift than that!
