It’s BABY MONTH! December is finally here and now we really start counting down to Christmas and BABY!!!
How Far Along? 36 weeks and a few days!
Size of Baby: A Cabbage Patch Doll.
Weight Gain: I’m up 12-14 pounds. Which is weird and incredible. I think my body just knows I started out with more weight and why I haven’t gained much this time around. I’m not purposely trying to not gain weight, but I also hardly ever have an appetite. The strangest pregnancy for me!
Stretch marks/Swelling: I always get a little swollen on the days I don’t hydrate enough. And no additional stretch marks so far!
Symptoms: I’ll randomly have a bout of nausea or sickness, but overall feel okay most days. I mean I generally just am uncomfortable, but I’m also carrying around what is likely at this point to be a 6ish pound baby if he’s anything like his brothers. I’ve also had THE WORST heartburn. I mean it’s been like that for months, but this weekend it flared up really bad again. On top of a sore throat, acid in my throat just made it worse.
Cravings: Does ice count? Because that’s about all I crave.
Gender: Boy, though I’ve had a few people lately tell us it’s a girl. Hahaha. Nope. I’ve seen that penis on an ultrasound.
Mood: Over it. Some days I’m not in a rush for him to be born, but other days I’m just sick of being pregnant. Last week I had a rough night of contractions that lasted a few hours and then stopped. That coupled with a toddler who was up all night due to congestion and a snotty nose, so by the time I got up the next morning I was feeling pretty over being pregnant.
Over the weekend I also got a slight cold (which is typical for me in December) and thankfully, I was able to heal from it pretty quickly (thanks to my essential oils!). I already feel significantly better.
Nursery: See my post for a full nursery reveal! >>>> NURSERY REVEAL
Movement: He has been moving A LOT lately. And at this point in the game the movements are starting to hurt because he’s running out of room in there.
Sleep: Ehh… sleep is hit or miss these days. Typical of pregnancy this late. I just generally feel uncomfortable, not to mention having to get up 10x a night to pee. Again, see mood: over it.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing in particular, but I will just randomly smell something or see something that makes me get sick and puke up my dinner. It tends to happen the most at night. Which is a first for me. I’ve never experienced getting sick this late in pregnancy with my other pregnancies. Also, my heartburn gets so bad sometimes it makes me sick too.
Best Moment This Week: We had a slight scare last week after my midwife appointment. The long and short of it: my midwife suspected he was breech which meant I had to get into an ultrasound ASAP. After two days of stressing over a possible breech baby, we confirmed he is exactly where he’s supposed to be right now (head down and facing my spine), so that was by and far the best moment last week.
Now, the countdown is on!
