Did you know?
1 in 4 women have struggled to purchase period supplies products in the past year due to lack of income. Can you imagine being on your period and not having the money to pay for period supplies?
U by Kotex® is the founding sponsor for a new national organization called The Alliance for Period Supplies. It helps women in need have access to essential period products required to be a functional human in our day-to-day life, even when we’re on our periods.
This may be an uncomfortable topic for some, but this is the reality. There are millions of women who cannot afford to buy themselves essential supplies for their periods, and it’s not fair.
I remember being a teenager and always worrying about when and where I would start my period, so I always had a couple extra tampons in my backpack just in case. What if you weren’t able to have access to those? And had to always worry about that time of the month? Not because of the cramps or the headaches or the hormones, but because you would have no way to protect yourself from the flow.
I’m partnering with Walmart and U by Kotex® to help bring awareness to the millions of women living in poverty who miss out on daily life because they lack access to period supplies.
What can you do?
During the month of October, U by Kotex® is helping to directly support women and their basic needs. For every 1 U by Kotex® product you buy at Walmart (whether in-store or online) 2 boxes of U by Kotex® products will be donated to women who do not have access to period supplies (up to 5 million boxes).
This is an incredible initiative by U by Kotex® who is making an effort to support thousands of women everywhere. In addition to U by Kotex®, Walmart will also be donating $25,000 to the Alliance for Period Supplies. For more information on the Alliance for Period Supplies check here >>> LEARN MORE
This month I encourage you to buy your monthly supplies at Walmart. Pick up U by Kotex® and help support other women and their basic needs of protection every month.
