Five Things To Keep In Your Summertime On-The-Go Bag

July 6, 2018 by nikkidockery Leave a Comment

This post is sponsored by Degree Women but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

It’s summer time which means we are poolside OFTEN. My boys loooove to swim, so you can usually catch us by a pool or a splash pad on any given day in the summer. And if we’re not there we’re either at a park or playing at a friend’s house.

One of the most important things about heading to the pool with a pack of kids or being out for the day in the summer is making sure your bag is packed 100%. There’s nothing worse than being caught out poolside without the essentials on a hot, steamy day.

Here’s a few things I always, ALWAYS pack with me when we head out for a hot summer day whether it’s spent by the pool or in a friend’s backyard!

Towels + Sunblock

Whether we plan on getting wet or not, we somehow ALWAYS end up in the water somehow! So I’ve learned to keep a stash of beach towels in this handy bag, just in case we end up in someone’s pool that day or playing in a sprinkler. And of course if we head to the pool, those towels come in handy.

And sunblock! Oh man. I am a freak about slathering these kids with the best sunblock out there. Those summer rays are amazing, but are also super harmful. I have an awesome post coming up next week about the best sunblock you can have for yourself and your kiddos during these sweltering summer days.

Swim Diapers

If you have a little one who is still in diapers, always keep these on hand! Because again, if you’re like us, you never know where you’ll end up. Whether it’s by the pool or the splash pad, these are superrrr handy to have around!

Deodorant

Alright, real talk here. This one is for ME, but it’s a true necessity during the summer. The warm temps and the all around sweatiness that happens means I have to reapply throughout the day, not for lack of a good deodorant, but simply because I NEED IT to feel fresh! Otherwise I feel yucky and gross throughout the day and no one likes feeling that way. I love having a good deodorant like Degree Motionsense Dry Spray on hand to deal with the active days we typically have.

I love this stuff (especially the Shower Clean scent) because it not only protects your clothes against white marks and yellow stains, but it also goes on instantly dry so you don’t have that yucky wet feeling under your arms. It has a motionsense technology that releases bursts of extra protection whenever you move (like me wrangling three kids in and out of the pool!). And it’s also been dermatologist tested and is alcohol free.

Find it here >>> Degree Motionsense Dry Spray Deodorant or at your local Walmart!

Snacks + Drinks

I talk a lot about the importance of having snacks on hand (for your sanity) when you’re out and about, but for real. This isn’t a joke! I’d say most kids (and most definitely mine) live on snacks. If it weren’t for all the snacks they’d probably never eat. My new favorite thing is to pack up a bunch of little baggies with a trail mix of sorts and just keep in this bag, so I don’t have to worry about restocking it every time we leave the house. It makes my departure timeĀ  a lot faster, so then I only have to think about packing some drinks instead of packing allllllll the things. I love to keep granola bars, crackers, raisins and fruit pouches in here. They’re non-perishable, but still nutritious for their growing bodies and will fuel them in between meals and while we’re out in the sunshine.

Do you keep a bag like this on hand? What things do you keep in yours?! Share in the comments below!
