We’ve been attending swim class at Aqua-Tots for four months now. We’ve had nothing but an incredible experience so far. From the convenience of class times, to the awesome instructors, to the caring staff who know who we are when we walk in the door… I truly cannot say enough about the place.
Recently, Carter moved up from Level 1 classes to Level 2 classes. He still needs myself or my husband to assist him (they need parental assistance until Level 3), but he’s being challenged more and more every week to push his skill level further and further.
One of my favorite things is how adaptive the instructors are for the students and how they get to know your children week to week.
At Aqua-Tots, not only do they work with your kids to understand their specific needs in the regular classes, but to go above and beyond that they also offer the Special Needs Aquatic Program (S.N.A.P.) for those children who may have a disability that prevents them from being in the regular swim classes.
Special Needs Aquatic Program (S.N.A.P.)
These private classes are reserved for Aqua-Tots students who have special needs and require more one-on-one handling. It’s an adaptive swim program where they can work with the children in a way that both comforts and suits their needs. They accept children who have conditions like cerebral palsy all the way to severe Aspergers.
In the S.N.A.P. program they can address specific goals for these children, offer one-on-one support, instructors get to personally invest in your child’s swim safety and level of comfort and skills beyond the normal, general classes and discuss what you and your child are looking to achieve with their swim classes: general safe swim? Daily movement activity? Whatever your goals are — S.N.A.P. is where you can set those goals with the instructor and make them a reality and know your children are safely learning a life skill at their specific level.
Some of Aqua-Tot‘s greatest success stories come from their swimmers involved in their S.N.A.P. It’s a customized approach to the traditional swim lesson for your child of special needs and will ultimately lead to your child gaining a love of swimming without fear of the water.
Add this to the list of many reasons we love Aqua-Tots!
