Whoo hoo! I finally got around to blogging Kaiden’s fourth birthday party! It was an absolutely PERFECT day and we all had a blast watching the kids enjoy this overly themed birthday party. 😉
If you know me, like at all, you know that I am not the biggest fan of cartoon character themes…. whether it’s parties, clothing, accessories… it’s just not my thing. It’s cool if it’s yours, but I’m not always the biggest fan. However, I’m not a totally selfish mom and my sweet son had been asking for a PJ Masks party for literally MONTHS. So you bet I pulled that off without a hitch and couldn’t have asked for a better turnout.
And the best part? Seeing my FOUR year old completely enamored over his birthday party. He had been counting down the days since his party last year (I wish I were exaggerating here….), so I had to deliver him a spectacular party.
Something to note about the Dockery clan is we LOVE birthdays. We may go slightly overboard, but it’s just something we really enjoy celebrating and putting effort into. We make every single birthday for every kid super special and all about them. After all, they have to share practically everything else in their life, so we aim to make their birthday an extra special event.
So without further ado….
The Ultimate PJ Masks Birthday Party
I set out to DIY most of his decorations and I succeeded!
First up was the centerpiece. I had an old box laying around so I grabbed some spray paint, cut out some “windows” with leftover scrapbook paper I had and used the printable (POSTED BELOW!) to create a cool little skyline.
I used a friend’s Cricut to make his birthday banner. If you don’t have a Cricut – find a friend who has one! They are THE BEST. They are definitely my favorite things to make for any party occasion.
I grabbed two black pieces of poster board to create the “PJ Mask Tower”. Roll it up and hot glue the back together, cut out wings, hot glue them in the back and voila! I used the printable mask to trace out the cutouts on the tower.Â
I found the PERFECT cupcake mixes at Walmart. These new Pillsbury cake mixes come in vibrant colors and the exact colors to go with a PJ Mask party (cake mix and the frosting to match)!
I picked up green, blue and red napkins, paper cups and plates at our local dollar store. And a friend of mine found these cute PJ Mask cookies at Ross. I also last minute threw together a few cake balls to put out as well. I grabbed a couple floral foam squares from Walmart, spray painted them and they matched perfectly!
And finally, I used the printable to make these super cute and easy goodie bags for all the kids! I simply cut out the mask, glued them to plain white paper bags. They turned out SO GOOD and were the perfect addition. The kids were so excited to grab one on their way out! I tossed in a couple pieces of candy and party whistles 😉
All in all I spent about $70 to put together this party. I had a lot of the supplies already (glue, scrap paper, paper bags) and only needed to buy a new ink cartridge as well as the couple items from the dollar store (balloons, table cloths, paper supplies like cups, napkins, etc). This DIY party came together exactly as I had hoped and our sweet boy had THE BEST day.
Shout out to my best friend, Heather, for printing out some masks for the kids to wear and the cupcake toppers she made!
Here’s to the year of FOUR.
And to my adventurous, intelligent four-year-old:
You make me SO PROUD to be your momma. You are the sweetest, kindest, most sensitive little boy. You are a leader in all things, continually impress me with how much you remember and how smart you are. I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for you <3
We love you, K!

Have you considered about putting some social bookmarking buttons to these blog posts. At least for twitter.
What kind of food did you have?
We always keep it real simple and just do pizza + salad! I once tried a taco bar, but it was a lot of work and didn’t go over well. So pizza it is from here on out!
